Janine Harouni is an American comedian who’s ‘ready for her Netflix special’ (The Times) and was selected as one of The Guardian's 'Ten Comedians to Watch in 2021'.

Her critically acclaimed debut Edinburgh hour ‘Stand Up with Janine Harouni (Please Remain Seated)’ was nominated for the Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe and recommended by the critics at The New York Times. It sold out across the UK and US before being filmed as a special for Amazon Prime UK - available to stream now.

Janine stars in the ITV2 sitcom Buffering and can be seen as Carla in the DC Comic film The Batman (Warner Bros). Other appearances include: The Russell Howard Hour (Sky Max), Comedians Giving Lectures (Dave), The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2), Yesterday, Today and The Day Before (Comedy Central UK), The John Bishop Show (ITV), Pointless Celebrities (BBC One) and The Now Show (BBC Radio 4).

Janine’s stand-up clips have been viewed close to 100 million times on social media and have gained her nearly half a million followers across TikTok and Instagram.

About Adam Brace

Adam was Associate Director at Soho Theatre, London and directed a body of work that included multiple major award-winning comedy shows in both the UK and the US. He directed, among others, Alex Edelman’s Emmy winning Just For Us (Broadway hit, now HBO special), Ahir Shah’s Edinburgh Comedy Award winning Ends (now on Netflix), the Olivier Award nominated One Woman Show by Liz Kingsman,  and the off-Broadway hit Leo Reich: Literally Who Cares?!. He directed Janine Harouni’s award-winning debut show, as well as Man’oushe. He passed away in 2023. 

About Jon Brittain

Jon is a two-time Olivier Award winning director and writer. He developed and directed the original stage production of Richard Gadd's Baby Reindeer and both of John Kearns’s Edinburgh Comedy Award winning shows. And writing/directing credits including recent West End hit musical Kathy And Stella Solve A Murder, and Apple TV+ series The Completely Made Up Adventures of Dick Turpin.
